Background: Wiki Entry

Personality:

Steven Universe is a goofy youngster with a very happy-go-lucky outlook on things. He tends to act optimistic to an extreme, and he is set on befriending virtually everyone whom he meets. Steven's priority is seeking out peace, and thus he tends to be pacifistic in many of his ways. He will still fight against enemies, especially the gem monsters whom he faces with the Crystal Gems, but he pities them and will be reluctant to use excessive force. Once, he even tried to tame an infant version of a monster as a pet, and even though it failed, the crystal gems all held hope that Steven would be able to do so someday. This seems to reflect a trait of his mother's, in that she "saw the beauty in everything, no matter how gross".

He even tries to see the value in his own enemies, and this has been displayed in his friendship with Peridot. He tried to be friendly with her even when they were clearly enemies, and he wanted to give her a chance against the wishes of the other Crystal Gems. It was shown that even Steven's trust has limits, however, as he temporarily lost faith in and turned on Peridot after she secretly stole something from a gem base and expressed her commitment to Homeworld's ideals. But Peridot ultimately turned on her superior in defense of the Earth, and Steven's faith was restored. And, when he faced the scary enemy known as the Cluster, he was able to feel their emotions and telepathically connect with them. Against all odds, he convinced the individual parts of the cluster to bubble each other instead of forming, which would have destroyed the earth. Thus, although he has learned what it's like to truly doubt others, Steven's faith in others has won out multiples times and has managed to inspire even the most unlikely of figures.

He has a very silly sense of humor in general, including excessive usage of puns. Although he has a very vivid imagination, he can be very naive and isn't very intellectual at all, but he seems to have been making some progress on those fronts over time. Knowing people like Pearl and Connie have definitely helped him to learn more, as Pearl has often imparted lessons to Steven while Connie has exposed him to the world of young adult literature.

He is usually a straightforwardly honest person, but he is still very capable of lying, especially when he is insecure about something. In one instance, he was insecure about the different ways in which Connie and he had interpreted a book, so he lied to pretend that he disliked the ending in order to match Connie's opinion. He was afraid of being considered to being a bad person for liking the book's ending and considering it to be romantic, but Connie was not disappointed when the truth came out, and she instead affectionately said that it was like him to enjoy "schmaltz". He also tried to fake physical aging once, because he was worried about the idea that he had not physically aged in years, and he wanted to be able to grow up with Connie. But after that plan backfired (and temporarily turned him into a baby), he saw how supportive Connie was of him no matter what age, and he accepted that he's stuck at this age for now.

Steven is still capable of being rude and he sometimes has been very childish when he has not gotten his way. However, he has matured past some of that over time, as reflected in episodes such as "The Test" where he learned to put the Crystal Gems' needs before his for a change, in order to help to assure them that they were doing the right thing for him. Most of the time when Steven acts somewhat mean, it is in a purely joking manner and towards inanimate objects, such as in his criticisms of the toy known as Dave Guy, who comes with taxes an accessory. "Is that all you have to offer?!" Steven demands of the boring toy. In other cases, he can become truly angry after being pushed. For example, in his friendship with Lars, he has often overlooked Lars's rudeness in favor of believing them to be 'BFF's, but once Lars got mad at Steven and even went as far as to bring Steven's mom into it, Steven had an outburst and told him off for being a jerk.

Despite how happy Steven often acts, he still does deal with a number of insecurities and other worries that originate from him being half-human and half-Gem. He has been desperate to prove himself as one of the Crystal Gems despite only being a kid, and he has worried about not being able to live up to his mother's legacy, although he has progressed far enough to be truly be considered as another member of the team by the Crystal Gems. He has also progressed in that he has gotten to the point where he can try to help the Gems to work through their issues, instead of being demanding of them to address his own. But this has lead to a different type of rift, as Steven has also developed a fear that the Crystal Gems blame him for his mother's absence, and because of that he has not brought up some of his worries with them. Steven also has his sorrows about never having known his mom and about technically being his own mother through owning her gemstone, and he has only confided some of those issues with human friends. He was also increasingly worn by the drama that the Gems formed between themselves and how he kept getting pulled into it, as he worried that it had something to do with him. That worry culminated into an outburst against Ruby and Sapphire in "Keystone Motel", and in their attempt to reassure Steven, the two tiny gems were able to work through their own problem.

Steven has also dealt with the opposite pull not too long ago, when he tried to distance himself from humanity in order to act only as a Gem, in order to 'protect' everyone he cares for. In this case, his human friends have acted as important tethers for him. Connie managed to pull him down to earth and help him realize that the would only be causing people more pain and worry by distancing himself, and then the local cool kids helped Steven to continue embracing the fact that he was still a kid despite everything; they even convinced the Crystal Gems to accept this.

In turn, Steven provides his own human touch in helping others to stay in touch with their hearts. He has helped to comfort Pearl through a number of insecure episodes, and he also stood up against the ideas that Pearl was teaching to Connie, so that Connie could fight alongside him instead of embracing the unhealthy practice of being prepared to die for a superior. He has also helped Lapis to make great strides in accepting her situation and finding reasons to be happy on Earth. Steven is still imperfect, and sometimes his attempts can be misguided. This was shown in the episode, "Sadie's Song", where he teamed up with Sadie's mom to form a force that kept pushing Sadie to do something she no longer wanted to do. But once Steven finally realized what he had done, he owned his mistake and performed in Sadie's stead. Steven still has a long way to go in his journey, but he has managed to mature and grow a lot, as both a human and a Gem, while still holding onto those goofy qualities that make him Steven.

Abilities: Steven happens to be half-gem, and this causes him to have a variety of unique powers and enhanced abilities. Because he is still very young, these powers have been developing gradually as the series progresses and thus this will be 'incomplete'. Of course, if he gets in I will not add in any powers that may be developed in later episodes without mod permission or a canon update.

-Shield - This is practically Steven's signature ability and the first one he discovers. It involves conjuring a shield from his gem, and the shield in question seems to vary in size depending on the situation. The shield is very durable and can even block a powerful energy blast fired by a gem spaceship. Its vibrations seem to be potent as well, as they have caused Lapis Lazuli's water constructs to be wiped away. Steven has also been learning how to use a shield efficiently, as he knows how to throw it like a discus and how to use it to make combo moves with Connie and her sword. Steven seems to have gotten the hang of summoning his shield, but to a limited extent; it has been shown that he was tired out by summoning a shield three times in one day.
-Bubble Shield - This is the ability to create a large pink energy bubble which surrounds Steven and whoever is closest to him. It is like a large hamster ball and has withstood extremes such as ocean pressure and a spaceship crash.
Shape Shifting - Like all gems, Steven has the ability to transform into the shape of nearly any living thing or object, but it is the least developed of Steven's powers. His early attempt at trying to turn into a cat went traumatically wrong and out of control, and it ended up turning him into a grotesque mass of cats until he was restored to normal. It has been shown that he has apparently gotten better at shape shifting, at least in terms of stretching out his body parts. Most notably, he managed to shift most of his body (including possibly his vocal chords) in order to look like his actual physical age in "Steven's Birthday", but this strained Steven, as he cannot keep such a thing up for long.
-Age Shifting - This is less of an ability, but it has been shown that Steven's physical age can change based on his mental state. This was primarily shown in the episode "So Many Birthdays", where Steven was disillusioned about the childishness of his birthday celebrations, and his gemstone's reaction to that caused him to become a teenager. As he felt older, he kept on aging to match it until he was elderly enough to be at death's door. They convinced him of the value of being himself in order to revert him back to his original age. In a later episode, he also temporarily reverted into an infant due to his insecurities about not being able to age normally.
-Bubbling - This is an ability that gems seem to universally possess, and it simply entails creating a small, sturdy bubble that can entrap an object inside. It is primarily used as a way to imprison gems, but Steven has even used it to store a bag of potato chips. This ability also involves teleporting the bubble (with its contents) right back to the temple, but I think it's safe to assume that this part of the ability will not work in-game.
-Healing Spit - Steven's equivalent of his mother's healing tears. Essentially, his spit can heal wounds and even fix broken objects. His backwash alone was able to cure someone's bad eyesight. It does not always work, however, and it is implied to be linked to his emotional state.
-Phytokinesis - Rose had the ability to create sentient plants to fight for her. With Steven's version, combining his spit with watermelon seeds causes the seeds to grow into sentient watermelon creatures that are shaped like Steven and known as Watermelon Stevens. These Watermelon Stevens cannot speak, but they will violently lash out against anything or anyone whom they perceive as harming Steven in any way. Steven has trouble controlling them, and they only listened to him when he lashed out at them in anger. A later episode has shown that they are capable of forming their own peaceful island civilization at least, and that Steven is capable of possessing a Watermelon Steven while his real body is asleep. It is unknown if this ability of Steven's extends to any other form of plant life; regardless, I do not intend to use this power in-game without mod permission.
-Empathy/Dream Telepathy - Steven has been shown to sense the emotions of other gems on occasion. He has also shown telepathic ability in his dreams - first entering the mind of Malachite and then possessing dormant Watermelon Stevens. He also established some sort of telepathic connection with the Cluster itself, and he was able to feel their emotions as he approached it. Most of the time, these powers have activated involuntarily, but they've related to beings in emotional turmoil. I also do not intend to use this in-game without permissions.
-Steven also seems to have some level of augmented strength, although it's mostly been displayed in minor examples, such as lifting a human larger then himself and tearing a vent off of a wall once, as well as tearing off part of an arcade game.

Alignment: Daimonia. 'Grief and joy' seems to match up well with Steven's character, as he grieves a mother he never knew while still managing to find joy in almost every situation. Also the color matches his gem!

Other: None that I can think of! He won't be bringing Lion with him.
